  1. Examine both sides of the postcard closely. Write down all the details you observe about it. What are two details that you find most interesting about the postcard itself?
  2. Next, read the translation of the postcard. Write down three things that you think are most meaningful about the message Frank’s father wrote to him. 
  3. Write down two things that you think are most meaningful about the message Frank’s mother wrote to him.
  4. Frank was imprisoned in a forced labour camp when he received this postcard. How do you think it made Frank feel to read these messages from his parents?
  5. Frank kept the postcards he received from his parents until his death in Vancouver in 2005. Why do you think these postcards were significant to Frank?
  6. The postcards were donated to the Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre so they could be preserved and studied by future generations. Why are the postcards an important source of history?
