Former Jewish Business

The burned-out building that was once the M. Meyer & Company business. The windows have no glass and some are boarded up, some bricked over, and there is bullet pitting on the side of the building. Two cars from the 1950s are parked in front of the building.

Former building of Jewish business M. Meyer & Company.

In 1954, Paul Meyer, the son of Max Meyer, visited Cologne and saw the location of the family’s former business. The original building was damaged, but the basement remained intact. There, Paul found samples and other materials produced by M. Meyer & Company. He brought these materials back to Vancouver.
