Crowd Saluting Hitler

Photos like this one were included in cigarette cartons and used as trading cards. They were a popular collectible item, especially among youth.  This trading card demonstrates the public image that Adolf Hitler carefully created for himself. He became famous for his dramatic speeches at huge rallies and parades. Nazi propaganda portrayed Hitler as a strong and devoted leader who embodied German nationalism. He was embraced as a hero and national saviour by many.
