Recruitment Poster
This recruitment poster for the Dutch National Socialist Movement (NSB) reads "Bouw Mee Aan De Nieuwe Orde, Voor Volk En Vaderland. Sluit U Aan Bij de N.S.B." (Build the New Order for the People and the Fatherland. Join the NSB.)
Fascism had root in the Netherlands before the Nazi occupation in 1940. The Dutch National Socialist Movement (NSB) has existed since 1931. The party's main platform was influenced by fascist ideology in Italy and Germany. Initially, it did not include antisemitic rhetoric and allowed Jewish members.
By the late 1930s, NSB policy became increasingly radicalized. The racist and antisemitic völkische wing of the NSB gained prominence. At this time, Jewish membership in the NSB was revoked.
