The antisemitic film Jud Süss (Süss the Jew) was commissioned by Minister of Propaganda, Joseph Goebbels. He believed that films were a powerful tool for influencing people. The film portrayed all Jewish characters as negative stereotypes: dishonest and immoral. The film was seen by over 20 million people. It was often shown as part of mandatory school programs.
