Ration Card
These Dutch food ration coupons were illegally obtained for the Stein family by the Dutch resistance. The family had gone into hiding to avoid being deported to the death camps. While in hiding, they had to rely on their non-Jewish hosts and the resistance to obtain food for them. These food ration coupons were essential for that purpose. The coupons could be used to purchase items such as potatoes, meat, butter, skim milk and bread.
