Inge, a Jewish child in Belgium, is pictured holding a bible and wearing a Catholic confirmation veil. In June 1942, Inge and her sister were hidden in the countryside by Alice Schiffer De Ruyck. Alice adopted the sisters and had them baptized. This allowed the girls to remain hidden at a Catholic orphanage during the Holocaust.
