Doctor’s note attesting to the heart condition of Albert Jacob van Haren
Dr. J.T. Zwaan was a Christian physician involved with the Dutch resistance during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. He issued this medical note which falsely certified that Albert Jacob van Haren, a Dutch Jew, had a heart condition and was unable to perform heavy work. Three weeks later, Albert and his wife fled their home and went into hiding for the rest of the war.
