Peter's Notebooks
Peter Oberlander kept notebooks on each subject he studied during his internment in Canadian internment camps. The Jewish refugees in the camps included leading intellectuals, activists and artists from Germany and Austria. There were also many students whose education had been interrupted by their deportation to Canada. With such talent among them, the internees organized schools in every camp so they could continue their studies. The schools offered instruction in a wide range of academic and religious subjects as well as technical training.
