Gerry Waldston sketched this self-portrait while interned at Camp B in Ripples, New Brunswick. As an orderly in the soldiers’ quarters of the internment camp, Waldston was able to listen to daily radio reports on the war. He acted as the internees’ source of news from the outside world.
