This bracelet is made of Dutch silver coins that belonged to Emmy Krell. Emmy survived the Holocaust in hiding with the help of the Dutch resistance.

When the Nazis occupied the Netherlands, they ordered Dutch citizens to hand over their copper and silver coins. The Dutch coins were engraved with a portrait of the exiled Queen Wilhelmina. Under Nazi rule, the Dutch were forbidden to display the Queen's image. As an act of resistance against the Nazis, some Dutch citizens had their coins made into bracelets.
