Pre-War Summer Camp
Sarah grew up in Warsaw, Poland, with her parents, brother and extended family. She attended a school with mostly Jewish students. In the summer of 1938, she went to a summer camp for Jewish girls. Sarah was 16 years old when the Nazis invaded Poland, and her family was forced to live in the Warsaw Ghetto.
