Kloster Indersdorf was a children's centre in Germany after the war. It was a home for children who had been orphaned in the Holocaust or displaced in the war. Over 100 photos were taken of the children holding signs printed with their names. The Red Cross distributed these photos across Europe. They hoped that surviving family members might recognize the children.
Shmuel Rajnsztajn and his brother Meir were Polish Jews who had been imprisoned in a subcamp of Auschwitz. Following a death march, the boys were liberated by the American army. Their parents did not survive. However, they were reunited with their surviving older siblings.
