Breakfast at Andrésy
As a young child, René Goldman survived the Holocaust in hiding, but his parents did not. After the war, he lived at the Manoir de Denouval orphanage and boys’ school in Andrésy. When he was 16, René left France to live and study in Poland, China and the US. Ultimately, he moved to Canada, where he became a professor at the University of British Columbia teaching Chinese history.
