Klara Forrai was a Holocaust survivor from Hungary. She lived in the Bergen-Belsen displaced persons camp following liberation. In this photo, she is participating in a demonstration with a group of survivors. They were protesting for the right to immigrate to Palestine, which was under British control at the time.

Two men in the photo were part of the Jewish Brigade. This was a group of Jewish volunteers from Palestine who fought with the British army in the Second World War. After the war, the Brigade helped set up displaced persons camps for Jewish survivors. They also assisted refugees in getting to Palestine, in defiance of the British restrictions on immigration.
