The Warsaw Ghetto Memorial Committee was established in 1952. It honoured those who died in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. In 1978, the name was changed to the Yom HaShoah Memorial Committee in recognition of all victims of the Holocaust. The Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre has held commemorative events on Yom HaShoah since 2014.
